Quick update on WiiDoom

I've got Saving/Loading games working, as well as a few other fixes. I'm trying to get the Automap integrated before releasing a new version, but I'm not going to work too much longer before releasing what I've got.

Question: How many people even use the automap???

I just noticed last week that the automap was missing (after playing since the 0.1 release). So, yes, I would use the feature if you include it but the lack of it has not made WiiDoom less fun.

I think there is a certain proportion of gamers get this just for the nostalgia of playing Doom on their Wii. They would probably not need the auto map very much.

However, I plan on playing this extensively. I LOVE Doom. Now that the controls are so incredible I plan on playing it a lot. So to answer you inquiry, YES, I use the automap all the time whan playing seriously, even though I know a lot of the levels by heart.

No automap? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! I actually haven't ever played all the way through Doom 1 and 2, so I don't know all the levels. So yes, I DO use the map. Heck, for the DS Doom port, I had to edit the config file so that I could access the map! (it wasn't programmed to any button)

Besides, the Wiimote has enough buttons - why not?

Also since I've set it up REALLY simply on my Wii console, my dad could even play it and as someone that's not really that hardcore of a gamer, he's gonna be getting lost and needless to say he DEFINITELY uses the map :P

Personally I use that simple maze solving technique of following one side/wall continuously since it lets me complete a level without having to switch back and forth from the map screen.

But I think it is safe to say that the map is definitely something a lot of people will want to make use of.
